This week, Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City (BBBSKC) announces their annual 2024 Bigs and Littles of the Year, presented by Hallmark. Each year, BBBSKC recognizes one Big Brother and Little Brother, one Big Sister and Little Sister, and one Big Couple and Little Brother as Bigs and Littles of the year. This year, three outstanding matches have been recognized for their remarkable dedication and positive impact on their Littles’ lives:

• Big Brother and Little Brother of the Year: Omar and Naser
• Big Sister and Little Sister of the Year: Shelby and Noelia
• Big Couple and Little Brother of the Year: Jeff, Micah, and Nehemiah

These exemplary matches have gone above and beyond in their commitment to helping their Littles achieve their biggest possible future. Each of these Bigs has shown extraordinary dedication, spending countless hours supporting, mentoring, and inspiring their Littles to dream big and reach their full potential.

The selection process for the Bigs and Littles of the Year involves nominations from Match Support Specialists and parents and guardians, an external committee review, and careful consideration of each Match’s impact. These matches were chosen not only for their strong bond and consistent involvement but also for the tangible positive outcomes their Littles have experienced, including academic success, increased self-confidence, and personal growth.
