Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City (BBBSKC) is proud to announce Step Up Big is returning for a third season with Hunter Dozier, outfielder for the Kansas City Royals.
Step Up Big, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, is a city-wide effort to make an impact on our community through the game of baseball. This season, Dozier will once again lead the Step Up Big effort as BBBSKC’s spokesperson to recruit volunteers and raise money for BBBSKC.
Staying connected during the extended off-season
The coronavirus pandemic has separated all of us from our normal support systems. As vaccines continue to roll out and the potential for a return to “normal” is on the horizon, there are still a record number of kids in Kansas City waiting for a Big.
“I couldn’t wait to join Big Brothers Big Sisters once again to defend the potential of kids in our community,” said Dozier. “Now more than ever, we need Bigs to help empower the next generation.”
How to Step Up Big
Step Up Big launches Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at
StepUpBig.org. This year, BBBSKC and Hunter Dozier have set a goal to raise $17,000 and recruit 50 new Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and Big Couples.
Community members can join BBBSKC and Hunter Dozier for #StepUpBig by pledging to donate for every double Hunter hits this season. Donors can pledge any amount per double — $1, $5, $10, or more!
Each donor that pledges $1 or more per double will be entered to win Royals memorabilia signed by Dozier, and each donor that pledges $5 or more per double will receive this year’s exclusive Step Up Big t-shirt.
Every dollar will stay right here in Kansas City to help match Little Brothers and Sisters with positive, caring mentors.
